My hard work paid off and I nursed until almost 2 years old.

It Takes A Village...To Breastfeed!

Yes, I am sure you have heard it a million times...

Breastmilk is A-MAZING!

But it isn't always that simple to produce. I was always set on nursing my babies but with each one, I struggled to produce enough milk to help them gain weight. I struggled for years feeling like a failure but thanks to my "village", I was able to breastfeed my daughter (with supplementing for a couple months) for almost two years and I am still nursing my 1 year old son!

So who's my "Village"? 

Well, my #1 person is my husband. He was there supporting me every step of the way with every child, every tear, every "failure". He encourage me to keep going, get help when I needed it and give me the breaks that I needed when I needed them!

Then there is the professionals that helped, guide and encourage me like my lactation consultant who answered my tearful phone call at 10 at night when I was feeling so low. Or my midwifes who came over extra days to weigh my son, contacted other professional for advice and didn't give up on me!

And then there are the great companies out there that make awesome products to help out busy, tired mommas like me! Products like great bottles, great breast pumps and so much more were essential to my success of nursing!

It makes it so easy to store smaller amounts of milk (like to use for healing ailments and infections!). I have never seen that in a pump kit before!

In addition, they include FOUR bottles in 5 oz and 9 oz and breast pads! This pump is worth it just for the bottles! I have used them with all three of my children and they are definitely my go-to bottle! 

They really thought of EVERYTHING with this pump and accessories!

The pumping itself was comfortable and easy to do. I love that it has five levels and it also counts the time for you! The soft silicone cups flex and stretch to fit comfortably and it is really easy to clean and assemble!

I definitely recommend this closer to nature Double Electric Breast Pump if you are new pumper and are just starting out! This kit has EVERYTHING you need to get started supplementing and feeding including bottles and storage pods! Plus, it is really easy to use and you can either pump one side or double!

I am currently nursing at night with my son so I have to wear a supportive nursing tank each night to bed. When I first started nursing with my first child, there were two things that drove me crazy and made nursing very frustrating: 1) Finding clothes that were both comfortable and allowed me to nurse in 2) Not exposing my skin, sides and stomach when nursing, especially right after giving birth!

The generous length allows you to tuck it in or go for a layered look.

You attach Undercover Mama shirts to the outer flap of a top-opening nursing bra by sliding each hook onto the flap a little below the clasp. Usually it will slide on just below the seam where the bottom of the clasp is sewn to the bra. You want to push enough material into the hook so it is snug. On most bras you can slide the hook clear on so that the entire width is inside the hook, but even if the strap is too wide to fit completely in, it still works just fine. You can also slip the hook of the Undercover Mama on to the strap of your bra instead of the flap. Keep in mind with this option you will need to unhook the Undercover Mama each time you nurse.

Anita International

One thing I have definitely learned over the span of my last two children is that it is REALLY difficult to find comfortable and flattering lingerie while pregnant and nursing! One thing I was still searching for is a good underwire nursing bra for the days I want a little boost for my "babies". :) I had yet to find one that is comfortable, fits well and works with nursing my daughter.

I also received two great pairs of their super comfy briefs! I have also had trouble in the past with having underwear be comfortable in that last trimester of pregnancy. These briefs from Anita International solve that problem because the stretch and grow with your growing body! Plus, they give great coverage on the back! :)

Stay Comfortable & CUTE while Nursing with Lorna Drew Lingerie!

Losing the weight and feeling great after having a baby can take a longgggg time! But a little secret to feeling and looking better about yourself is to have a cute set of lingerie to wear once in awhile to show off those post-baby assets (especially if you are nursing!) :)

Uddercovers is Affordable and Easy to Carry for Nursing Anytime!

I was so excited to try out the Uddercovers nursing cover from Mother Earth Baby because Udder Covers are committed to making the most dependable nursing covers on the market. They want you to have a product that will cover you where you need it and yet still allow you to have eye contact with your baby - all while wearing something chic and stylish. Each of their nursing covers is marked with their signature Udder Covers logo.

Now if you are in the market for a new nursing cover, let me talk to you about the difference between Uddercovers and other popular nursing covers on the market.

I love the purple color of this great Uddercovers cover! It is by far my favorite pattern out of all of my nursing covers.

The rigid neckline is very similar to other nursing covers I have and it is also easy to adjust!

The only differences I see between Uddercovers and other more expensive versions is the material is not as soft or thick and you can just tell the material is not quite as expensive.

Also, as you can see in the above picture, it is not as big in overall size as other nursing covers! This can either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you are looking for. For me, I personally like the bigger size 'cause I got more to cover :) Plus, I just feel more comfortable and worry less about exposing anything...But for more petite, smaller women, this smaller cover would definitely be sufficient - as you can see above it isn't that much smaller!

Because of its smaller size and less thicker material, it is also more easy to store and carry around because it takes up less room!

So if you are looking for a more compact, easy to carry cover, then the Uddercovers is the way to go! They have a great selection of patterns and colors and they are available at a great price!

This organic cover comes in several neutral colors and I love the Steel colored cover I received!

 As with the regular Bebe au Lait covers, this cover also has a terrycloth pocket in the bottom corner for storing things or wiping baby's mouth. 

It is also a nice, generous size so it covers EVERYTHING I want covered! 

The unique rigid neckline allows for ventilation, as well as direct eye contact with the baby and that makes it a lot better than using blankets to cover my daughter like I used to!

It adjusts really easily and stays put so if you like it the same size every time, then it will be like that every time you pull it out to use it. However, if you need to adjust it, it is really easy to do, even while nursing!

And since my daughter definitely spits up a lot (and on everything in sight!), I am so glad this cover is machine washable for easy cleaning!!

So as you can see, this organic Bebe au Lait cover is very similar to the original Bebe au Lait covers but it is superior for me because it is made of safe and organic cotton for my baby's sensitive skin! The material is soft and comfortable and it makes nursing so much easier!!
