Applied Label Review

Has your child's clothes ever gotten mixed up or lost at daycare, preschool, or school? You, of course, search and search for your child's favorite item, but never do find it. That is the worst! How about if you have twins and you want to tell their clothes about so you can avoid any fits? Or are you just a neat freak and love everything labeled and sorted?

Well, if you have found yourself facing these issues, check out this great company - Applied Labels. This company has come up with a solution for all your organizing and labeling needs! They have labels for shoes, clothing, bottles, and about everything else you can think of! You can personalize the labels with a name, picture, and specific font of your choice.

My Opinion

I graciously received a set of shoe shields, classic applied labels with my son's name and a cute football picture, and blank backers from Applied Labels. The personalized applied labels were so cute and were the perfect size for labeling everything in sight - his bottles, shoes, food, toys, clothing, and pretty much anything that was his in the house! For his shoes I covered the classic labels with the shoe shields (clear, unprinted labels that are slightly laarger than classic labels) It held the labels on firmly and I could still see his name! The blank labels I used to stick the classic labels onto his clothing tag to help it stay put. You can laundry as normal and they stay put. Once you want to remove them, you just snip and peel and its like they were never there! Label all your children's clothing so you don't have to wonder who's is who's every time you do laundry!

I recommend these labels for any mother that has children who frequently misplace (or lose!) their possessions or attend school/preschool/daycare and need to keep track of their things easily. These labels are great for labeling everything in sight! They are also great for families and children who frequently mix up clothes, toys, and shoes and want to stop the fights! These will clearly label everything!

Pros: Classic labels: custom printed to say your child's name and a cute picture, dishwasher and laundry safe, very strong, versatile uses, permanent ink, lead, DEHP, and BPA free
Shoe shields: help shoe labels last longer and stay on
Blank Backers: keeps labels on clothing, can still wash and dry as normal, easy to remove from clothes tag

Cons: the classic labels may be hard to remove from some items, can't reposition very easily once you put it on

Buy It: You can purchase the Classic Applied Labels on the Applied Labels website for $14.95 for 30, $24.95 for 60, or $29.95 for 90.

The Shoe Shields can be purchased for $1.95 for 12 shields, $3.90 for 24, $5.85 for 36, or $7.80 for 48

The Blank Backers can be purchased for $5.00 for 60

Check out all their other available labels such as clothing, bottle, content, or baby date labels on the Applied Labels website. Get organized today!

Organically Grown Clothes Review

I recently received the cutest outfit for my son! I am so excited because I have learned as a mother shopping for a little boy that most stores have NO great or cute selection of boy clothes! So imagine how excited I was when I not only got a really cute summer outfit for him, but it was also made out of organic cotton! Cute and safe to wear - I hit the jackpot!

The outfit I received

So I bet you want to know where I got it from! Well, I got it from this great company called Organically Grown Clothes. So why was I so excited that it was organic cotton? Well I got 3 reasons for you.

1) Organic cotton is helping to improve so many people and things including the health of farmers, water pollution, the earth, and helping to reduce the fatal pesticide poisoning of farmers and their families.

2) Organic cotton is grown and harvested using methods that have a low impact on the environment. The mission of organic farmers is to build, replenish, and maintain healthy soil, which is the foundation of the food chain. They do not use toxic chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, or GMO (genetically modified organisms) seeds.

3) Insecticides are the most dangerous pesticide to human health. Of the top ten insecticides most commonly used in traditional farming, three of them are also on the World Heath Organization's list of the most acutely hazardous to human health! Organically grown clothing is grown by safe, pesticide-free methods from plants that are not genetically modified!

So cute!
My Opinion
My first impression when I saw this outfit was how cute it was. Like I said before, I don't get to see or buy a lot of really cute outfits for my little guy - it seems like the clothing market really focuses on girls! But this outfit was so cute! My second thought after picking it up was how soft it was! That is one thing I have always noticed about organic cotton - it is so much softer than regular cotton! I wanted to put it on my little guy so I could just cuddle him in it!

Cute Girls Clothes Also Available
I recommend this company and its clothes to all mothers for their children. They are cute and you will feel good about putting on their body!

Pros: no pesticides or other harmful ingredients, 100% organic cotton, very comfortable, easy to move around in, the outfits are so cute!

Cons: none that I could think of!

Buy It: You can purchase all Organically Grown clothes and room decor for both girls and boys, men and women at The Organically Grown Group website

Go check out their cute clothes today (you won't regret it) and become a fan of their Facebook page here

Check out my son in his cute new outfit! (Even he loves it!)

Eco-Friendly Peter Rabbit Products Review

We have all heard of Peter Rabbit and his story, but did you know that he also has Eco-Friendly products out there to use?! I didn't know, but I was pleasantly surprised and excited to share the story of Peter Rabbit with my little one while using safe and non-toxic products on him!

Beatrix Potter, the author and creator of Peter Rabbit, was an early 20th century environmentalist and staunch conservationist. Celebrate Spring this year with eco-friendly Peter Rabbit products such as organic toiletries by EcoNatura, soft toys by Kids Preferred, and books by Frederick Warne. All these products reflect Potter's passion for the environment.

My Opinion
I recently received Peter Rabbit Organic Shampoo and Body Wash, Peter Rabbit Organic Intense Therapy Cream for Baby, a Peter Rabbit Rattle Stick, and The Tale of Peter Rabbit Special Edition classic book. Instantly it brought back many childhood memories. I love Peter Rabbit and now I am so excited to share the story and the products with my little one!

My favorite things about the shampoo and cream were how safe they were! I was a little skeptical at first when I saw that Peter Rabbit was on everything, but the products were perfect for my son's very sensitive skin. They were completely free of harsh ingredients and are made of certified organic juices, oils, and extracts. There was a long list on the shampoo of all the ingredients that WEREN'T in it! I love that!

So how did they actually work when used? Well, the shampoo smelled great and a little bit went a long way! I love that! The intense therapy cream came right at the perfect time. My little boy has very sensitive skin, but he recently got a cold and his poor little nose was so dry and chapped. I dabbed a little bit (seriously only a little bit - didn't even make a dent in it) and put it on and after his nap there was no sign of dryness or redness! Plus, I felt good putting it on him because it has no harmful ingredients in it! LOVE IT!
I also loved the rattle. We have been looking for a soft little rattle that he could hold on to but yet would not hurt himself with. This was perfect! His little hand could grasp and shake it, but he wouldn't get hurt if he hit himself (which he does a lot!). And if that wasn't enough for me to love, the rattle sticks are 100% certified organic cotton, made from eco-friendly materials, phthalate free, and produced in socially responsible factories!

I recommend these product to all mothers with younger children, especially if you love Peter Rabbit and his story as much as I do! Feel good about sharing a great story and putting great, safe products on your children!

Pros: very safe products, organic ingredients, no harmful, harsh, or unsafe ingredients (no parabens, phthalates, BPA, petroleum, animal by-products), no animal testing, Peter Rabbit rattle was soft and easy to hold and also safe for baby to chew on because it is 100% organic cotton and phthalate free, intense therapy cream was very effective and a little goes a long way!, shampoo was sudsy and a little went a long way!, these products will last a long time!

Cons: None! I loved everything about these products!

Buy It: Peter Rabbit Shampoo is $9.99 and can be purchased here on the Peter Rabbit website. The Intense Therapy Cream is $11.99 and can be purchased here. Peter Rabbit rattles are available for $7.99 and can be purchased here.

Five Questions for This Friday!

1. What is your worst memory of your siblings?
When we beat up on each other and fought like crazy - my older brother used to throw me down the stairs, my sister and I had baby wipes and deodorant fights, i used to hit my younger brother's head against light switches, me and my sister would attack my older brother with our belts...fun times, fun times...yes we are a violent family! :)

2. What was YOUR naughtiest childhood memory? (Must be something YOU did, no pawning it off on someone else!)
hmmm....i was a pretty good child....LOL...(see above :)

3. Where do you like to go to relax?
Vacations - I would take one every weekend if I could - I want to travel the world - that is relaxing to me!
but until that day happens...I like to sit in my bed and read a good book! I could do that all day if I had the chance..

4. What was the last thing you won?
I won Little Twig products from a blog giveaway! It was so exciting - it is the only thing I have won too! I am not a very lucky person! :)

5. If you could be on a game show, which would you choose?
I loved the Newlyweds show ( I am not one anymore but I always wanted to go on there) and I really truthfully want to get my family on the Family Feud - we would rock!! :)

Hope you liked learning about my troublesome childhood and where you can see me on TV someday! Happy Friday!

Bummas Review and Giveaway

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED

One of the things I was most scared about when I found out I was having a boy was getting peed on all the time while changing him. Well, after he was born, I definitely had my fair share of soaks - and so did he! He even peed in his own mouth one time! :)

I never knew what to use to help me in those situations until I came across Bummas. Bummas are eco-friendly cloth diaper wipes that virtually eliminate irritating diaper rash without the use of powders, talcs, and ointments. They are small soft baby sized cloths made especially for drying baby bottoms, as well as blocking those surprise squirts. If you have a child with really sensitive skin, you can even wet these towels a little bit and use it as a wet wipe! They are small enough to carry on the go and durable enough to be washed over and over without pilling, shrinking, or fading!

My Opinion
I received the Wild Ones pack to review and I loved the bright colors! The towels were soft on one side and a little rougher on the other and can really help get off those stuck on messes! I loved that these can help eliminate the use of repeated wipes waste. If you are using a couple of wipes for each diaper change that can add up to a lot of garbage! These are so nice, especially when you don't have a huge mess to clean up. You just wipe, toss in the dirty laundry and reuse it again (after it is washed of course!). My husband will be happy that the garbage amount will be cut down a little bit! :)

Plus, these wipes have no harmful ingredients in them like some wipes do. My other favorite part is that they are so versatile! There seems to be endless uses for them! Here are a couple of ways I am going to use them: as burp cloths, kleenex/tissues, wash cloths for bathtime, and it is perfect to bring along in a diaper bag for quick clean up! They will definitely be replacing a lot of items in my diaper bag and save me a lot of room. They roll up so nicely and won't take any room up in my bag.

I definitely recommend these to all mothers with children of all ages. There will always be messes to clean up and faces to wash no matter what age your children are so these Bummas can be used for a long time! They will definitely end up paying for themselves!

Pros: Safe for my baby's skin, easy to carry around, takes up little room, so many uses, helps avert the squirt!, replaces lots of extra wipes and paper towels, bright colors so my baby likes them too!

Cons: none that I can really think of!

Buy It: You can buy Bummas on their website for $16.99 or find them in a store near you here

Organic Aminals Review

I recently received this great organic aminal doll "Liun" from Aminal Dolls. (And yes I spelled it correctly - it is aminals and liun like what kids would say and spell! :) The minute I saw the idea and the creations from this company I loved it! These dolls are all made from 100% organic cotton inside and outside and are made from designs made by children. Each character doll has its own special story. They are huggable soft and safe for your child!

My Opinion
I love that this doll is completely organic inside and out! I felt good giving it to my son and I didn't have to worry when he began to suck on it. Plus, it is so cute! I love that they make them like children would draw them and I think when my son is a little older he will love it even more when he knows what it is! I loved the story that the Lion came with and the children's writing it was written in (see below)! I love how this company embraces children's artistry and talents!

I definitely recommend these dolls for all children but they may be most fitting for children of drawing and coloring age so they can really see their drawings come to life in these dolls!

Pros: Organic inside and outside of the doll, all the dolls are cute and are inspired by children's drawings, great selection of dolls for every child

Cons: The material is a little rough and it is not the softest, cuddliest doll out there but I think being 100% organic and safe for babies to hold and chew on outweighs that!

Buy It: You can buy Aminal Dolls on their website here for $24.99.

Boogie Wipes Review and Giveaway

This Giveaway is CLOSED

I recently received some Boogie Wipes to review. Boogie Wipes are soft wipes that are made with saline to dissolve boogies (mucus) caused by the common cold or allergies. They are extra soft, alcohol, phthalate, and paraben free! They are recommended by pediatricians as a gentle, effective alternative to a dry tissue and are available in great scents such as grape, fresh scent, magic menthol, and unscented.

My Opinion

I have seen many a baby with dried on snot and I have also witnessed the fight and tears they make when they need to get their nose wiped. I have been dreading that day with my son, but it finally came recently. I was very happy to have the boogie wipes for several reasons. First, they were soft and moist so as not to irritate his sensitive skin around his nose when I had to constantly wipe. Also, they have saline in them so they dissolved the stuck on boogies and helped with his stuffy nose! Genius!

Plus, I didn't have to worry about what I was putting against his skin and so close to his nose because it is alcohol, phthalate, and paraben free! That is so important to me!

I definitely recommend these to all mothers, especially for the mothers who have a little one who always seems to have a runny nose or dried on boogies! It can easily and painlessly help your child feel and look better!

Pros: Safe for my baby's skin, easily dissolves boogies, doesn't irritate skin like repeated use of kleenex, hypoallergenic, gentle enough for all ages, moisturizes with Vitamin E, Chamomile and Aloe, great container for stationary use and great travel wipes for on the go.

Cons: the only thing I can think of is that the wipes are a little big and if I didn't have that much to wipe I felt like I was wasting a precious Boogie Wipe - it might be nice to have them a little smaller so I don't have to throw a barely used wipe

Buy It: You can buy Boogie Wipes at the Boogie Wipes website for $3.99 for a 30 count pack or at 40,000 retail locations in the U.S. and Canada including Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us

Boogie Wipes is being so generous and also sponsoring a giveaway and offering (2) packs of 30 Count wipes (fresh, grape, or menthol - combination varies) to one of my great readers!

Plan B by Pete Wilson

Plan B by Pete Wilson is a book about what to do when your plan for life doesn't match God's plan for your life and you must resort to Plan B. Pete Wilson reaches beyond the typical Christian response to offer encouragement and hope that this new Plan B will turn out okay in the end and we must trust God. He uses Biblical examples of characters in the Bible such as David, Joseph, Mary and Martha as people who had to go to Plan B in their lives as well as real life stories from present day.

I thought this book was very well written and gave much hope for something I think everyone has experienced - a change of plans in our life.We all have hopes and dreams for our future, but if there is one thing I have learned in life is always plan for the unexpected! Pete Wilson tries to convey that in this book - that it is okay to move to Plan B and that we still need to see God in every circumstance no matter how far away he seems! It was comforting to read about all the Biblical examples along with the present day examples because it helped me not feel alone with my doubts, fear, and panic! But it also helped me feel comfort and strength in the fact that God had a plan for them and he also has a plan for me!

This book was a great comfort and I will keep this book handy for whenever I am going through a stressful time in my life or know someone else who is! It is a good book to pass out and share with others to read for them to gather strength and trust in God to guide them through all their troubles! I would definitely recommend this book to other people, especially those in a crisis time.

Getting to Know Me

Hello! Welcome to the Review Stew - if you are new here - or Welcome Back if you have Tasted the Stew before!

I am revealing a little bit of myself today so you can see who is behind making The Stew!

The questions..

1. Are you superstitious?
No, not really. My husband is the scaredy cat/superstitous one in the family so someone has to be strong! Plus, I don't believe in luck or doing something all the time to make good luck because I believe God is behind everything!

2. If you were an animal..what kind would you be?
I think I would be a bird - an eagle - they can soar for so long and they are so beautiful. And what a beautiful way to view the earth!

3. You would never catch me wearing.........?
Crocs...sorry croc-lovers..I just can't get myself to get on that bandwagon...

4. If someone posts a VLOG..do you watch it?
hmm...no sorry. I don't feel like I have enough time for that

5. Have you ever waxed your girlie parts..or any other part of your body?
NO...I can't get myself to inflict pain on myself to remove hair I can remove without pain

6. Are you a spender or a saver?
I am a saver..especially now that I have a baby. I can't even remember the last time I bought anything for myself...

7. If you were starring in a movie..who would you want to play your leading man/woman?
hmm...there are so many good ones out there....I love Ryan Reynolds, Taye Diggs, Ben Affleck...

8. Smoker..never smoked..social smoker..or smoked back in the day?
Never, ever smoked nor ever will

Have a Great Sunday and Enjoy the Week!
