Earth Mama Angel Baby Lotion Review

Earth Mama Angel Baby is quite the name to say, but they have a great product to back it up! They kindly sent me the Angel Baby Lotion to review! My son has suffered with dry and sensitive skin on his face since he was born and I have been searching and searching for a lotion that would help or - at the very least - not irritate his poor sensitive skin more! I was so excited to see if this one would be THE ONE!

Well, I tried it the first day and "GASP!" it didn't irritate his skin or eyes more than what they already were. I then kept using it a couple times a day and each day his dry skin patches got better and better! I couldn't believe it - I finally found a great lotion for my little one's sensitive skin!

So why did I want to try out this product in the first place? Well, what drew me to the company was the fact that all their products are pure and safe and all are free from toxins and have never contained Quaternium-15, 1,4-dioxane, formaldehyde, phthalates, or any other toxic ingredients! That was a great start!  (To see why these ingredients are harmful and their potential side effects, click here to see my article on Safe Baby Products)

Then I saw that the Angel Baby lotion was clinically tested and 100% organically preserved with no artificial dyes or fragrances. It is made with organic rooibos and they claimed it soothed eczema, skin allergies and diaper rash. I was sold!
It proved to be everything it claimed! I loved the refreshing scent and it cleared up his dry skin! I even tried it on a little diaper rash he had and it was cleared up the next day! Wow!

I highly recommend this brand, especially the lotion, if your baby has sensitive skin! Check out the lotion here and see more of their great products on the Earth Mama Angel Baby website.

Children's Book Review - The ABC's of Being Me

The ABC's of Being Me is a children's book of rhymes for each letter of the alphabet. It is published by Dorrance Publishing. Click here to see the book in the Dorrance Publishing Bookstore. Each rhyme contains words that start with the corresponding letter. Each rhyme talks about different attitudes and actions a person can have, such as love, eagerness, kooky, and dreaming. It is supposed to help children learn to appreciate themselves and the world around them.

This book was cute and fun to read the rhymes and it is a nice hardcover book. However, the rhymes are a little long for each letter of the alphabet so make sure you are reading to a child that has a good attention span. The pictures aren't that clear or interesting either so that won't really hold their attention. However, for an older child this book teaches great words for them to learn about themselves and learn the alphabet at the same time!

I recommend this book for older children who understand bigger words, who are learning their alphabet, and who are learning about themselves.

Adult Book Review - Lonestar Homecoming by Colleen Coble

Lonestar Homecoming by Colleen Coble is the third book in a series, but they are not all connected so you can read them separately and still know what is going on in each.

This book is about Gracie Lister and her five year old daughter Hope. Gracie is always running from her problems but they eventually always catch up to her. She must run from her fiance and meets Michael Wayne at the train station in a wedding dress and no money! Michael takes her home as his nanny for his two children. They soon fall in love but not without many obstacles to overcome!

At first when I saw this book and its description, I thought it was a historical fiction book. However, it is not historical, but is set in present time. It is a good book though! It kept my attention throughout the whole book as Gracie went from one challenge in her life to the next and found God again along the way! The mother-daughter relationship and the risks she would take for her daughter hit home to me as a mother. It was a book I could not (and did not want to) put down! I definitely recommend it to others who love a good romance, adventure, and Christian story!

Shushybye Book & CD Review and GIVEAWAY!

I always love to read and listen to a cd with my little son before bedtime. It seems to create a good transition from activity time to sleep time - plus it is good bonding time too! Recently, I have gotten so used to all the book and cds we have that I could recite the words by heart! It was time for some new material!

That is why I was very excited when I recently received The Shushybye Close Your Eyes book and the Shushybye and Goodnight Deluxe Edition CD to review. I was so eager to see how my son would like it!

It turns out he loves it! I put the cd in while I was feeding him before bedtime and he instantly calmed. It also worked great for car rides too (where he least likes to be!) He quieted right down the minute he heard it! Amazing! I also liked that the songs were catchy and I caught on to the words right away and could sing to him the songs!

The book was cute too! It was a nice hardcover book and it was fun to read to him, the pictures are colorful and they kept his attention. It even included an audio cd! Older children will love to sit and listen to the book being read to them on the cd!

So what is "Shushybye"? Shushybye is a place where dreams are made for children by the Shushies who live in such fillages as Nap Valley, Snore Shore, Slumber Heights and Yawn Island. It is designed to encourage preschoolers to look forward to bedtime.

It is the the original dream themed entertainment brand for preschoolers, encompassing a national television series on BabyFirstTV and Comcast Video On Demand, a series of bedtime storybooks, music CD's, plus toys and plush dolls, DVD's and sleepwear to go along with it!

Sound like a dream come true???
