Mandisa is one of my family's favorite Christian artists and I have loved her since American Idol! And when I heard Overcomer from her new album, Out of the Dark, I played it over and over and my family now sings along every time! We LOVE Mandisa and are so excited to own and play her newest album!

Mandisa wrote her song “Overcomer” in 2013 to encourage her close friend Kisha, who was battling breast cancer. Mandisa really believed and prayed that God was going to heal her, but when Kisha went to be with Jesus in 2014, Mandisa’s foundation was shaken in a way she never expected. She fell into a deep pit of depression for close to 3 years, shutting out her friends, family and the rest of the world. Mandisa believes if she had kept going down that road she was on, she would not be here today… but God stepped in and lifted her out of that pit by using her close friends to communicate their love for her and God’s love for her. This album is Mandisa’s way of letting her fans into her story – it’s called 'Out Of The Dark' because that is exactly where God lifted her out of!

I am so glad Mandisa has blessed us with this new album and that God pulled her from her depression so she can bless us with her beautiful gift! One of my all time favorite Christian artists is Laura Story. She sings my favorite song of all time, Blessings, and now she has come out with a new album full of more amazing, reassuring and comforting songs and I LOVE IT!

Her new album is called Open Hands and it is so good! The songs are soothing, full of worship and reminds of God's love and we have been playing it non-stop in our house!

Throughout the Bible, there are countless stories of ordinary people whole-heartedly attempting to live a life fully surrendered to God’s unique calling on their lives. More than once, God asks people of faith to relinquish control and simply trust Him. These days, singer/songwriter Laura Story is discovering the beauty found in letting go. It’s this posture of surrender that she’s striving for on her fifth studio album, Open Hands (Fair Trade Services).

Open Hands’ fresh collection of originals blends Story’s signature congregatiomal worship with intimate moments. A parade of A-list songwriters, including Matt Redman, Matt Maher, Mia Fieldes, Hank Bentley, Sarah Hart and Seth Mosley, among others, pepper the album’s 11 tracks. Through writing sessions both alone and with others, Story began to gradually see this common thread of surrender emerge.

The title track—already a chart-topper prior to the album’s release—features guest vocals from Third Day’s Mac Powell, a fellow Atlanta-native and Story’s longtime friend. “You Came Running” borrows imagery from the biblical narrative of the Prodigal Son. In true Story fashion, several selections (“Awake My Soul (1000 Tongues),” “For The Love of My King”) reimagine timeless hymns, which she refreshes with an original chorus.

My favorite song on this album is Whisper, the seventh song on the album. It is so soothing and calming to my soul during troubled and stressful times in my life. Her words and voice calm my soul, remind me of God's love and watchfulness in my life and get me through the tough days! What a blessing Laura Story and her music is!

TOBYMAC's New Album #THISISNOTATEST Review and Giveaway #FLYBY

I am going to my first concert in November and I am so excited that I am seeing TOBMAC, one of my favorite Christian artists!

He is releasing his newest album, This Is Not A Test, this Friday, August 7th and I am so excited to already own the digital album and I am LOVING the songs! It makes me even more excited to see him LIVE in a couple more months!

This album is really upbeat and is definitely a great dance mix. But most importantly, I can play it in front of my kids because the lyrics are clean and talk about God!

I love Til the Day I Die and Move (Keep Walkin') is such a great reminder that God has a plan and will get us through all the tough times! And Feel It is my favorite song to turn on when we are in a dance mood!

If you don't know much about TOBYMAC, let me introduce you!

Toby McKeehan (known professionally as TobyMac) is a husband, father, performer, songwriter, producer, and businessman. Growing up in the northern Virginia suburbs adjacent to Washington D.C. helped instill his love for rap music. While attending Liberty University during the mid 80s, Toby met Michael Tait and Kevin Max Smith and these three friends formed the Grammy winning, platinum selling group dc Talk. Toby began his solo career in 1999 with his first solo album, Momentum, releasing in 2001. Momentum has been followed by four additional studio albums, Welcome to Diverse City (2004), Portable Sounds (2007), Tonight(2010), and Eye On It (2012), along with his first live album, Alive and Transported (2008).

This Is Not A Test is his 6th studio album to be released. Starting with dc Talk, and then going solo when the group disbanded, Toby still clings to such rootsy notions as hard work, persistence, patience, and - perhaps most relevant of all - the power of music, which he insists is still what keeps him going.
