I am always so excited to listen to new Christmas albums every holiday season and this year I am LOVING the newest Christmas album from one of my favorite Christian artists, Chris Tomlin!

Chris Tomlin is an American contemporary Christian music artist, worship leader, and songwriter who has sold nearly 30 million records. Some of his most well-known songs are "How Great Is Our God", "Jesus Messiah", "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)", "Our God", and "Whom Shall I Fear". His 2013 album Burning Lights debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, only the fourth Christian album ever to open at No.1. We have pretty much listened to this CD non-stop since we got it! My favorite song that I literally play on repeat is Noel featuring Lauren Daigle! It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and it gives me such peace and love this Christmas season...even amid the chaos that sometimes accompanies it!

I am going to my first concert in November and I am so excited that I am seeing TOBMAC, one of my favorite Christian artists!

He is releasing his newest album, This Is Not A Test, this Friday, August 7th and I am so excited to already own the digital album and I am LOVING the songs! It makes me even more excited to see him LIVE in a couple more months!

This album is really upbeat and is definitely a great dance mix. But most importantly, I can play it in front of my kids because the lyrics are clean and talk about God!

I love Til the Day I Die and Move (Keep Walkin') is such a great reminder that God has a plan and will get us through all the tough times! And Feel It is my favorite song to turn on when we are in a dance mood!

If you don't know much about TOBYMAC, let me introduce you!

Toby McKeehan (known professionally as TobyMac) is a husband, father, performer, songwriter, producer, and businessman. Growing up in the northern Virginia suburbs adjacent to Washington D.C. helped instill his love for rap music. While attending Liberty University during the mid 80s, Toby met Michael Tait and Kevin Max Smith and these three friends formed the Grammy winning, platinum selling group dc Talk. Toby began his solo career in 1999 with his first solo album, Momentum, releasing in 2001. Momentum has been followed by four additional studio albums, Welcome to Diverse City (2004), Portable Sounds (2007), Tonight(2010), and Eye On It (2012), along with his first live album, Alive and Transported (2008).

This Is Not A Test is his 6th studio album to be released. Starting with dc Talk, and then going solo when the group disbanded, Toby still clings to such rootsy notions as hard work, persistence, patience, and - perhaps most relevant of all - the power of music, which he insists is still what keeps him going. "It's the truth," he says. "I still believe that a song can penetrate a heart. I believe God can use a song to open someone's mind and heart."

Jazz for Babies

One of the things I have always enjoyed while pregnant and while having little babies is having that "calm" part of the day, whether it is in the car or before bed, where I put on my favorite classical CD and rock or soothe my baby to sleep.

However, after listening to the same CD A LOT of times (especially when you have a cranky baby at night and the only thing that calms them down is listening to the CD over and over and over...), the music can get to be a bit too much. That is why I am always searching for new soothing and calming classical albums for calming my children!

I recently found a great set of five soothing albums from Jazz For Babies and now I know I will never get tired of listening to their music because there are FIVE albums to rotate through and I love all the songs and unique instruments used to make the music!

Music is an international language, passed down from generation to generation. Those early sounds heard by baby create a bond that lasts a lifetime. But not everyone's music tastes include Wheels on the Bus or Frere Jacques. In the wee hours of the morning while calming a fussy baby, sleep-deprived moms or dads have been turning to the calming sounds of guitar, grand piano, trumpet, vibraphone and saxophone. In each of the five Jazz For Babies albums, parents may hear a familiar movie tune, the latest pop song or a classic standard -- acoustically -- without lyrics. It not only mellows baby but calms mom or dad so everyone can get back on track.

Typically, baby calming music features computer-produced, synthetic sounds, etc, but not Jazz for Babies! Adults and children alike instantly notice the difference and love Jazz for Babies for its acoustic instruments, a rarity in calming baby music.

We love music in our house! We are listening to music almost all day long but I do get tired of finding "kid-friendly" music that my children can listen to and when I do find it, we listen to it so much it gets old fast.

A Solo Piano Christmas

Today, I want to share one of the best Christmas CD's I have listened to this year! It is such calming and beautiful music and there aren't even any words! This CD is A Solo Piano Christmas by Chad Lawson and it is truly relaxing and beautiful - two things often forgotten at Christmas! Every time I popped this CD into our CD player, I felt a calming and peace come over me and I felt like I could take a breath...even if it was in the midst of screaming, crying children, chaos, or multitasking throughout the day!

Born at a young age, Chad Lawson wanted to play the piano after watching Sha-na-na on TV. He was five years old and hasn't changed his mind since. And whether touring with Julio Iglesias or releasing numerous 'album of the year' recordings, Lawson doesn't see his mind changing anytime soon.

He was classically trained and aspired to attend world-renowned Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore.

In 2011, Lawson released two solo piano recordings. A Solo Piano Christmas and The Piano. With SoloPiano.com nominating both for album of the year in their perspective categories, The Piano was named Classical Album of the Year (2011).

A Steinway Artist and newly recipient of an artist grant by the state of North Carolina, Lawson will continue to compose and perform his original works. You can hear his music anywhere from MTV, NPR, PRI and even places that don't have a three-letter acronym such as SiriusXM and Pandora. And if you're traveling to and fro, be sure to tune into The Piano on Delta's In-Air flight radio during March/April of 2012. You may find the skies just got a little friendlier.

He was also recently featured on the Bob Edwards Show 2 weeks ago and on the Bob Edwards Weekend edition this past weekend. The Piano was also recently #19 on iTunes Classical Charts.

This CD is the definitely the perfect music to put on at the end of a LONG day when the kids are in bed, a glass of wine is in the hands, and I am cuddling and relaxing with my hubby by the fire! It will forever remind me of the true meaning of Christmas and that the holidays don't have to be crazy busy and stressful all the time!

We like to listen to Christmas music from around September to December so we really like to have a variety of artists and CDs to change around and add variety. One of the favorites in our Christmas music mix is the new A Sammy Klaus Christmas from Sammy Kershaw!

On October 22, multi-platinum selling country music star Sammy Kershaw offered up a collection of fun holiday favorites with the release of A Sammy Klaus Christmas.

The ten-track album is chock full of Kershaw's signature style and unmistakable vocals and includes classic sing-along holiday standards like “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” as well as traditionals like “Silent Night,” “The Twelve Days Of Christmas” and the bluesy “Santa Claus Is Back In Town.”

This album to me might be their best one yet! I loved every single song on this Graduation album and they definitely picked the best songs of the show to feature on the CD!
