Thank you to BING Social Search for sponsoring my post about social media. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.
Social Media
...two words that have changed the way companies operate and advertise, people operate and spend their time, and...are two new words that have found their way into arguments in households across the world! :)As you may be able to tell, I speak from experience! :) Social media has changed my life in significant ways...some are good and some are unfortunately not so good.
I would say the good outweigh the bad or I would not still be involved! I absolutely love the opportunities Social Media has opened up for me - my blog, new and awesome products that I have learned about and been able to share with others, and new people, business contacts, and friends I have connected with through Social Media. Without my blog, I would have gone crazy sitting home with my son the last two years! It has helped me find a purpose now that I am a stay at home mom and for that I am eternally grateful!
Also, other social media sites like Facebook and Twitter have changed the way I learn news about family and friends and it is so crazy that people communicate more by these social media sites than they do by phone, mail or even face-to-face! Sometimes, it is a little crazy how much interaction and relationships are dependent on social media and it scares me sometimes that people will forget how to communicate face to face!
However, unfortunately some bad has come along with the good. There have been some new arguments in my house about the late night laptop sessions trying to meet a deadline or reply to a gazillion emails. The laptop and my blog have become a third person in our relationship and sometimes it can cause strain. Four years ago, when we got married, neither one of us knew about social media or expected this bump in the marriage road! :) However, we have figured it out and I have learned to work when I can and cherish my family time most of all!
I love to see Social Media growing like crazy and I can't wait to see how it changes my life in the future and the world around us!
How has Social Media changed your life??
