My Opinion

I absolutely love straw cups for my son to drink from! They eliminate any teeth damage from sippy cups and it helps him to slowly transition to drinking out of a real glass. Plus, it eliminates spills!

There were some pros and cons to the Playtex Straw Cup.

Pros: It is BPA free and Phthalate free which is SO IMPORTANT!!! I also love the fun colors! The Twist n Click feature is great for storing the cup in the fridge and also from preventing spills and leaks through the straw. I also LOVE that they thought of a squeeze feature for parents to help their children learn how to drink from the straw.

Cons: Sometimes my son couldn't actually get anything to come out. You had to have the lid on "just right" or no liquid would come out when he sucked. It got really frustrating for me and for him when I couldn't figure out how to get liquid to come out. Also, sometimes liquid would just shoot out of the straw when the cup was just sitting (I think it was a lid issue again...). That was very frustrating because it made a big mess wherever it was sitting. Sometimes it was if the cup was possessed....

I recommend the Playtex First Lil' Gripper Straw Cup for all new straw drinkers! It is small in size which makes it perfect for the younger toddler. I also LOVE that it is BPA and Phthalate free! That is so important! If you have an older toddler, definitely look into a bigger straw cup!
