Pulse Yoga is a result of a personal quest to find yoga routines that accomplish much more than other yoga styles. So, in addition to the free weights, there are added micro movements that primarily target areas such as the gluteus muscles, abdominals, upper arms and lower back. These micro movements within the yoga postures are highly effective with results that are noticeable immediately.
My Opinion
I am a newbie to yoga because I usually prefer a more upbeat exercise or a weightlifting workout. So I was a little nervous to try this Pulse Yoga. However, it was a great mix of both types of exercise and it was actually very challenging and fun at the same time! It took all the normal poses of yoga but added a challenge by adding weights and pulses.
Plus, it was set in beautiful Mexico and it made the workout calming and relaxing but kicked my butt at the same time! :o)
The only negative is that the videos are all about 60 minutes so you are going to need a chunk of time to do these workouts.
I recommend Pulse Yoga to all yoga lovers out there but it is also great for yoga newbies like me that also like an extra challenge and weightlifting added in!
