Relax with a Glass of Noble Vines Without Breaking The Bank!

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

I am a huge wine fan (what mother isn't??!!) but I can't afford to spend a ton on a bottle of wine! So I am always on the hunt for affordable but quality, delicious wines!

I have found all those qualities in Noble Vines - one of my favorite brands of wine! Noble Vines collection of affordable, yet quality wines are farmed in the red, cobblestone soils of their family-owned vineyards in Lodi and on the gentle slopes of their cool-climate San Bernabe Vineyard in Monterey, California.

Noble Vines produces exceptional grapes to harvest six succulent wines. They marry the most admired vines with sustainable winemaking innovation crafting wines with concentrated flavors, silky fruit and soft, supple tannins. Best of all, they’re all under $20—check them out below!

337 Cabernet Sauvignon – Exhibiting appealing aromas of black cherry, ripe currant, fresh herbs and lightly roasted coffee, the supple tannins and balanced acidity support from its core flavors can be enjoyed on its own or with herb roasted pork loin, baked chicken, barbecued stead and sautéed mushrooms.

446 Chardonnay – From a beloved Chardonnay vine, this medium-bodied wine offers delightful aromas of ripe pear, pineapple and melon with hints of lemon and toasty vanilla spice. This wine can be also be enjoyed on its own or with soft cheeses, seafood, salads, and pasta in wine or cheese sauce.

667 Pinot Noir – Enfold yourself in the plush tannins and balanced acidity support core flavors of ripe Bing cherry, juicy plum and delicate hints of soft, toasty oak, making it the appropriate wine for dinner parties—enjoyable with nearly any cuisine including salmon, roast lamb, or salads with cheeses or nuts.

The ONE— Dark fruit flavors carry through beautifully to the palate ending with a touch of pepper. Merlot leads the way in this fruit-forward blend followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The addition of Zinfandel adds a touch of softness to the final blend. Noble Vines One red blend offers inviting aromas of blackberry and toasty oak followed by luxurious notes of lush black cherry and pepper with a long and lingering finish.

181 Merlot – A classic merlot, 181’s fresh fruit flavors of currant and cherry mingle gently with spicy cedar and vanilla is the flawless companion to pasta with sausage and roasted peppers or a pan seared steak with mushrooms and parsley.

242 Sauvignon Blanc – Medium bodied with a round mid palate and bright acidity, this refreshing wine offers flavors of guava, passion fruit and a hint of lemon zest. Enjoy it on its own or with just about any seafood or spicy food.

It is really hard to pick just one favorite out of these Noble Vines wine varieties. I really liked them all and with different foods and at differenct occasions! If you are looking for a quality wine that won't break the bank, try Noble Vines!

Gift Ideas from Kobrand Wines

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

Kobrand holds a leadership position in the fine wine and spirits arena that spans more than sixty years and includes a portfolio of outstanding brands from around the world.

Kobrand's portfolio includes virtually every major fine wine region of the world, encompassing distinguished classics from the Old World as well as exciting new expressions from emerging regions. heir ability to sift through the trends to bring you only gems of impeccable quality is second to none.

Check out some of my favorite varietals that Kobrand Wines carries:

CAPOSALDO Prosecco

Caposaldo blends a handcrafted, artisanal approach to winemaking with cutting-edge quality standards and techniques.

Fruit is hand harvested from 100% DOC-rated 20-year-old vines that yield fewer but more intensely flavored grapes. Vineyards are located on hillsides in Pieve di Soligo, one of the 15 communes allowed for Prosecco production, nestled between the famed DOCG provinces of Conegliano and Valdobbiadine. The wine is crafted using preferred natural fermentation in autoclave, which results in a superior effervescent quality. Like all Prosecco, Caposaldo Prosecco is nonvintage.

CROFT
10 Year Old Tawny Porto

The fruit for Croft 10 Year Old Tawny Porto is sourced in the traditional way, from the highest-quality individual growers in the Douro Valley, where the varying altitude and aspect of the vineyards creates the potential for a complex wine of great character.

In the winery, the newly developed, robotic “Port Toes” technology for treading allows the winery to maximize the quality of the fruit by mimicking the gentle action of human feet during traditional foot treading, which does not pulverize the skins or break the pips, avoiding the release of bitter tannins into the juice.

Fermentation is halted by the addition of grape spirits before all the residual sugar has been fermented, creating a sweet, fortified wine. The 10 Year Old is a blend of wines, selected from Croft’s considerable stocks, that have been aged for an average of 10 years in neutral oak casks.

THE SEEKER
Malbec

These grapes were discovered at altitude in some of Mendoza’s best terroirs, including the Agrelo and Vistaflores subregions. Vineyards are planted at high density in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, starting above 975 meters (3,200 feet), where the altitude and poor soil result in lower yields and a cooler climate for balanced wines. Grapes are handpicked, destemmed and manually sorted, with only perfectly ripe fruit contributing to Winemaker Didier Debono’s luscious Malbec blend.

Cold maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks at 6 to 8°C (43 to 46°F) for four to five days to extract aromatic precursors. Post-fermentation maceration lasts from 7 to 10 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in French oak, followed by a period in bottle before release.

CAPOSALDO
Sweet Moscato

The grapes grow on the cool hilltops of northern Italy’s Lombardy region, where the northern-lying Alps shield the low-yielding hillside vineyards from harsh weather and the 20-year-old Guyot-trained vines benefit from a superb blend of white marl and chalky soils. During harvest, the fruit is carefully handpicked.

Wines for Every Holiday Occasion

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

Whether you are looking to serve a bottle of wine at your holiday dinner, after dinner with dessert or with appetizers, Banfi Wines has just the right bottle of wine for you!

Check out some of their great selection below:

Bolla Prosecco

Grapes were both hand and machine harvested for this Bolla Prosecco. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and cuvee close to develop the stars.

The color is a bright, deep straw in color and the bouquet is an appealing ripe fruit on the nose with hints of apple, pear and peach. And it tastes fresh and fruity on the palate with a great vein of acidity and lively finish.

You may enjoy Bolla Prosecco with anything! It is delightful with appetizers, seafood, pasta, chicken, pork and veal as well as desserts.

Rosa Regale

The Rosa Regale has an aromatic bouquet with hints of raspberries, strawberries and rose petals. It tastes like fresh raspberries, with crisp acidity, enticing the palate with an initial softness, graduating to a clean and dry finish.

It is perfect for any occasion because it is an unique and festive sparkling wine, seductive aperitif, and elegant dessert wine. It pairs well with seafood, cheeses, spicy fare and chocolate. Serve chilled.

This sparkling red wine made from Brachetto d’Acqui in Piedmont, Italy is love at first sip and a perpetual crowd pleaser.

Riunite Lambrusco

The pressing and brief maceration of select grapes for this Riunite Lambrusco is followed by the fermentation of the must at controlled temperature. A second fermentation, using the Charmat method, imparts the characteristic sparkling note.

The fruity, soft and harmonious bouquet is paired with the light, well-balanced taste! This is one of my our favorites!

Riunite Lambrusco is perfect for every occasion. Enjoyable and straight forward, its easy drinkability make it a favorite with a wide variety of foods, including spicy fare.

Riunite Peach Moscato

This Peach Moscato has a bouquet of strong peach, accompanied by hints of honey and sage. The taste is clean, with strong, ripe peach flavors; sweet with soft aromatics.

It is ideal as an aperitif, but Riunite Peach Moscato also pairs well with fruit, salads, spicy foods and desserts in general. Serve chilled at 40°F-46°F.

Pacific Rim Riesling

The Riesling juice is fermented at cold temperatures for 30 days and then aged in stainless steel tanks. All our Rieslings are fermented with native yeasts. They use no oak and no malolactic on this wine– it’s as pure and unmanipulated as it gets.

The Jasmine, pear and apple bouquet is paired with the taste of apricot, jasmine with a balanced sugar level.

It is ideal to pair with spicy Thai and Mexican cuisine, and even rich cuisine such as French and German.

Pacific Rim Sweet Riesling 2012

For this Sweet Riesling, they pick the Riesling grapes early (20-21 Brix) and use only native yeast and ferment at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks – there is no use of oak barrels or malolactic fermentation. They stop the fermentation at about 7% residual sugar, and clean the wine rapidly to retain as much freshness and fruitiness as possible. They leave a fair amount of natural carbon dioxide in the wine to create a lively mouth feel.

It creates a bouquet with honey, pear and orange blossom and the taste is sweet, bright acidity with pineapple and white peach.

Pair this Sweet Riesling with fiery fare – especially Thai, Szechwan, Mexican, Middle Eastern and Caribbean cuisine.

Josh Cellars Wine

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

Josh Cellars is a handcrafted, affordable wine that is perfect for anytime of the year!

Josh Cellars is a handcrafted wine created by longtime winemaker Joseph Carr in honor of his dad Josh – a volunteer firefighter, former soldier and his lifelong hero. All Josh Cellars wines undergo classic French winemaking techniques to deliver a bold, rich, approachable style. Josh Cellars is part of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. Varietal offerings include Cabernet Sauvignon; Chardonnay; Pinot Noir; Merlot; and Sauvignon Blanc. The Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc were launched most recently, in July 2013.

Carr first experimented with grapes in a vineyard manager’s garage, and soon after set out to produce varietals that so perfectly embodied the man his father was. Of the wine, he says, “Bold and expressive, but unassuming and approachable – it’s funny how these characteristics remind me of someone I knew. It’s a wine I made for family, friends, and a man I called dad.”

The wine also supports social causes in which Josh himself would have believed. From November 1 – December 31, Josh Cellars will donate $1, up to $50,000, to Operation Homefront to support military heroes and their families.

Josh Cellars is available on and off-premise nationwide, including conventional liquor stores, wine specialty shops, specialty grocery stores, grocery chains, casual and fine dining, and hotel properties. The Josh Cellars Facebook page, Facebook.com/JoshCellars, features a locator tab so that you can find the wine in your area. www.JoshCellars.com will launch later this fall and serve as another great resource for locating the wine.

My two favorite varieties from Josh Cellars is the Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc!

Josh Cellars Pinot Noir (SRP: $16.99)

Aromas of cherry and strawberry coupled with layers of spicy oak delight the nose. On the palate, the wine is plush and subtle yet has a firm texture. Dark cherry and chocolate flavors fill the mouth with a rich intensity and lingering finish.

Josh Cellars Sauvignon Blanc (SRP: $13.99)

Bright aromas of lime and citrus are at the core of this Sauvignon Blanc, with layers of white flower nectar, peach and tropical melon. The palate of the wine is fresh and alive with clean fruit flavors and a perfectly balanced finish.

Buy It: You can purchase Josh Cellars wine on and off-premise nationwide, including conventional liquor stores, wine specialty shops, specialty grocery stores, grocery chains, casual and fine dining, and hotel properties. Go Organic with Banfi Wines!

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

I have talked before about how much I love the great variety of wines that Banfi Wines offer! Today, I am even more excited to talk about Banfi Wines because they offer some DELICIOUS varieities of ORGANIC wines! Two of my favorites put together: organic and WINE! :)

The first wine is a great one from Emiliana's Natura.

At Emiliana, the organic vineyards literally teem with life. Vineyards buzz with various bugs, bees, birds and native wildlife that together provide a natural and effective defense against common vine-destroying insects. Flowers and native plants thrive throughout the organic vineyards, providing another simple and cost-effective method of pest control and helping to counteract the detrimental effects of soil degradation. The use of chemicals is shunned, in favor of natural compounds, such as copper and nitrogen. Compost is sourced from spent grape skins and stems. Emiliana’s Natura range, which celebrated its U.S. debut in 2006, marks the cutting edge of an altogether new category of wines made from organically grown grapes – a collection of superbly made, affordably priced organic wines crafted expressly for everyday enjoyment, and accessible to all. The Natura collection features seven varietals, three whites and four reds, all produced from hand-picked, organic grapes, harvested from certified organic vineyards in the prime growing regions of Chile’s Central Vally.

The NATURA Carmenere 2011 is from Chile and is made from 85% Carmenere, 8% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Merlot.

The organically grown grapes are hand-picked in late April. After the crush, the must is transferred to temperature-con-trolled stainless steel tanks for a cold soak before undergoing alcoholic fermentation. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation which takes place naturally by controlling the temperature to complete the process. 20% of this wine is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months.

It is a dry, red wine that with a good balance between fruit and oak with a long, juicy finish.

Another great organic wine from Banfi is the NOVAS Pinot Noir 2011 and Sauvignon Blanc 2012

From Emiliana, Chile’s premier name for world-class wines made from organically grown grapes, the NOVAS range comprises a pioneering collection of limited-production wines, both white and red, produced exclusively from prime organically grown grapes. Meaning “new” in Latin, Novas is also the term used by astronomers referring to a bright, new star that suddenly appears in the heavens.

Novas wines are crafted by renowned winemaker Alvaro Espinoza, South America’s foremost expert in organic and biodynamic wines. Together with Emiliana’s lead winemaker, José Antonio Bravo, this quartet of wines has gained international acclaim. Superbly approachable upon release, the Novas collection will also reward a degree of aging, with the reds in particular developing increasing suppleness and complexity over time.

The Pinot Noir 2011 is from the Organic vineyards in the Casablanca Valley, Chile made from Organically grown grapes, 100% Pinot Noir. Grapes are hand harvested and sorted prior to a 7 day cold soak. The wine is aged for 8 months in French (20%) oak barrels.

It is bright ruby red with a bouquet with aromas of red fruits, especially cherries, which meld elegantly with earthy notes and toast from its time spent in oak.

Novas Pinot Noir is ideal with white meats, light sauces, full flavored fish and shellfish, cured ham and sushi.

Novas also offers the Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Emiliana from the Organic vineyards in San Antonio Valley, Chile.

The Organically grown grapes,100% Sauvignon Blanc are harvested by hand, the grapes are selected in March and undergo fermentation in stainless steel to preserve their bright fruit character. The wine is then aged in stainless steel with selected yeasts for 8 months producing clean, focused fruit aromas and flavors.

It features herbal notes mixed with citrus and soft floral hints. It is medium bodied with grapefruit flavors joined by a delicate acidity and a touch of minerality.

Novas Sauvignon Blanc pairs elegantly with white meat seasoned with lemon, fresh salads, fresh cheeses, shellfish and white fish.

And to change the organic subject just a little, Banfi also offers a really great sweet variety - Sweet Bliss...and who doesn't love a sweet wine!??

At Sweet Bliss, they craft sweet wines with surprising complexity and character. They know there are few things more delightful than a wine with beautiful aromatics and fresh fruit-forward flavors. And whether you fancy a lush red wine, a white wine with a streak of bright character or a pink wine with a clean yet succulent finish, why limit yourself to just one? After all, everyone craves a little Sweet Bliss.

For the Sweet Pink Wine, they blend Riesling, Pinot Gris (Washington) and Moscato (California) along with a touch of Barbera for color. All the grapes are picked early and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation is arrested at 8.5% alcohol and 8.5% residual sugar. A fair amount of residual carbonation from fermentation is left in the wine.

It is ideal with barbecued chicken, pork loin in a citrus glaze, berry pie or strawberry shortcake.

The Sweet Red Wine comes from several sources within the Columbia Valley. We blend 25% of Barbera from Piedmont to give the blend its signature "cherry" flavor. Some of the blend comes from bulk wines they buy that are rich in flavors regardless of the vintage. They age the blend on oak for a few months.

This wine is ideal with barbecued chicken, grilled burgers or pizza, even chocolate cake, cheesecake and cobblers.

Buy It: You can purchase the Natura Carmenere for $11, Novas Sauvignon Blanc for $14, Novas Pinot Noir for $17, and Sweet Bliss (all) for $9 at a local spirits retailers near you.
