Celebrate Father's Day with Glen Grant Whisky

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

Got a whiskey-lovin' Dad on your gift list this Father's Day?

Then give them the gift of Glen Grant 15 Year Old single malt Scotch Whisky! This is the third new aged variant from Glen Grant to reach the states, joining the 12 and 18 year old expressions, which launched last year.

Distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2017, Glen Grant 15 is the creation of Dennis Malcom, Glen Grant’s
legendary Master Distiller and one of the longest tenured master distillers in Scotland. He crafted this 15 year old whisky at 50% ABV batch strength to bring an intensified expression to the signature Glen Grant style, noted for its brilliant golden colour and elegant yet complex taste profile.

The liquid is matured in hand selected, first-fill ex-bourbon casks, imparting a beautifully complex flavour, further enhanced by non-chill filtering for a fuller mouthfeel. The final product offers aromas of citrus fruit and toffee, accompanied by a rich palate of spiced pears, tangerines and vanilla. It leaves a nutty finish with delicate notes of soft fruit.

Founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant in Rothes, in Speyside, Scotland, Glen Grant boasts a remarkable, double distillation and unique purification process, which sets its award-winning single malts apart from the competition. Tall slender stills and distinctive purifiers, introduced over a century ago by the ingenious James ‘The Major’ Grant and still used to this day, capture only the finest vapors, producing the refined and seductively smooth taste for which Glen Grant is renowned.

Buy It:

You can purchase Glen Grant 15 Year Old for a suggested retail price of the 750ML is $76.99, though exact product availability and pricing may vary depending on region.

Gift Ideas for the Whiskey Drinker on Your List

A product was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

Have a person who's drink of choice is a glass of good whiskey?

Then check out these four whiskeys that are sure to please!

Crown Royal

Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel Whiskey

The Hand Selected Barrel whisky from Crown Royal was produced from the brand’s “Coffey Rye Still, the only known still of its kind in North America, located in Gimli, Manitoba.” It is bottled at 103 proof and should price for around $55 for a 750 ml bottle. It has flavorful creamy and fruity notes of banana, combined with rich oak undertones.

64% Corn, 31.5% Rye, an 4.5% Malted Barley aged in new oak delivers a unique, sweet flavor profile that is a great sipper and a step up for that crown fanatic. Currently, this whisky is only available through a barrel program and every barrel is unique, so you won't find this splashed all over town.

Crown Royal Regal Apple

Since its launch last August, Crown Royal Regal Apple has been widely enjoyed among consumers and bartenders for its drinkability in cocktails, shots and sipping on the rocks.

To create this extraordinary blend, Crown Royal whiskies are hand-selected by our master blender and infused with Regal Gala Apples and apple flavors. The result is a delicious Canadian whisky balanced with notes of crisp apple flavor.

Check out this winter whiskey recipe using Crown Royal Regal Apple to warm up on a cold winter night:

Scorchin Winter Warmer

  • 1 oz. Crown Royal Regal Apple
  • .5 oz. Stirrings Ginger Liqeuer
  • 3 dashes Aguostura Bitters

Add to mug and top with warm apple cider.

Recommended for cold days at the tailgate tent. Wrapping your hands around a mug of Scorchin Winter Warmer will help you stay warm enough to cheer on the home team.

IW Harper

Beginning with a subtle nose, I.W. HARPER Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey leaves traces of caramel and vanilla on entry before melting into velvety bursts of wood and spice. The finish is sweet and pleasant with subtle fruit notes.

ABV: 82 proof, 41% ABV

George Dickel 12 Tennessee Whiskey

They blend older whiskies to achieve deep, assertive flavors with an incredibly smooth finish. Bold and brazen, this is the Superior No. 12.

Concentrated flavors of rich oak and subtle vanilla lead to a long finish with hints of maple, butter and smoke. A whisky with enormous depth, range and personality – considered by many to be the gold standard of Tennessee Whisky.
