I am a huge fan of Soap Nuts and use only them for our laundry for many years now. I love how easy they are to use, how eco-friendly they are and so safe for all my wash - even cloth diapers! Want to know a weird little fact about me....I have NOT used a liquid laundry detergent in over 2 years!!!!

So what do I use? I use (and HIGHLY recommend!) Soap Nuts to do our laundry! Ever heard of them?

If not, then let me explain why they are so awesome!

Money doesn't grow on trees, but soap does! Soap Nuts are an 100% organic laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner. It is the greenest of the green when it comes to cleaning laundry, dishes, even hair.

The dried berry of the soapnut tree contains natural saponins that lather up naturally. These saponins act just like soap. The saponin molecule has one end that combines with water and one end that combines with oil, so it's able to lift up dirt and grime off clothes and keep it suspended in the water.

All you do is place a handful (4-5 nuts) in a small muslin bag (included) and throw the bag in your washer. Plus, they can be re-used up to three times, so it's highly economical. They're great for front-load and energy efficient models too because they don't over-suds. And the great part is that you can use the same bag up to three times! Once they're spent, just empty out the bag and throw them in your compost pile. No need for laundry softener, dryer sheets or bleach. Soapnuts lift dirt and keep it from redepositing on clothes just like any other detergent. Clothes come out smelling fresh, naturally.
