Help Your Children AND Others Get Ready to Head Back to School!

Wow...Can you believe it is August already and time to get the kids ready to head back to school? Where did the summer go???

What are some of the things you do to prepare your children to head back to school?

I know when I was younger, I was always so EXCITED to go back to school because it meant shopping with my mom for new school supplies! I always LOVED going with my mom and getting new pencils, pens, notebooks in my favorite color and fun folders! There is nothing like brand new school supplies to start off a brand new school year!

Well, it seems Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) and Disney feel the same way I did when I was a kid because this year they have partnered to launch the Tools for Back to School initiative.

If you want to be part of this fun initiative and help children in need get much needed school supplies, it's really easy and rewarding! Just head over to the BGCA website and play the fun pop-quiz style game, where supplies are donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score. I LOVED watching the correct answer total (and thus the total amount of school supplies donated!) add up with each correct answer! I could play all day for this great cause! :)

On top of partnering with Disney, they are also partnering with one of my favorite department stores:  jcpenney! I bet a lot of parents shop at jcpenney for back to school clothes and supplies shopping! If you do, throughout the month of August you can join jcp cares and round up your purchase at the register to benefit BGCA! It is a really easy way to make a difference in many children's lives!

Along with both these great causes, BGCA also offers great educational content and tip sheets for parents to download and utilize. You can find them on the left hand side of the BGCA site under the ‘Get Ready’ header.

My favorite tips were the Time Management tips. With the crazy schedules, multiple sports, and busy lives of families today, many parents and children need as much time management help as they can get!
