What Furniture Helps You Think Best?

One thing I learned from the many years of school I went to is that, in order for me to concentrate my very best, I must create the ideal study and work environment.

Those standards have definitely changed over the years. In high school, I preferred to study on my bed with the music on and the door shut (to keep out all the noise of a household of 10 people!) In college, I preferred the library where I could hear people interacting and noise because that is what I was used to from home (and from those noisy 10 people). Now, I prefer "me time" where I am sitting on "my chair" in the living room and no one else is around! I have noise all day from my son and now I crave my personal "quiet time"! :)

However, in each ideal study situation for me, there is always one common theme: furniture! For me, it was a bed, desk at the library, or my chair in the living room, For others, it might be a desk, drafting chair (like the Mayline drafting chair shown above) or even the floor!

I know for my husband, he really prefers his home office where he is surrounded with his filing cabinets. Personally, I think he has a little bit of a filing cabinet obsession! He has three filing cabinets that look similar to the Mayline filing cabinet shown below, just for a household of three people! We could each have our own filing cabinet!! Sometimes I wonder what he has in those things! :)

Sometimes, I think I need a better "thinking environment" than just the living couch. I was really starting to get a lot of ideas when I started looking through the amazing selection of Mayline furniture! Sadly, we don't have a spare bedroom in our house to put in a. I guess I will just add that to my wish list for my future dream house!

What piece of furniture or room helps you think best??? What would you add to your dream office?

I love curling up in a large overstuffed armchair to read or work on my novel! Of course I have to wait until the kids go to bed to do that, or they'll keep jumping on me!
