I really appreciate this skill because plumbing is not something I want to mess with. The closest thing I get to plumbing is cleaning the toilet! :)
It can just be a really dirty, ungrateful job (centipedes, hairballs, and a lot of other nasty stuff) and I am A-ok with giving that job to my husband!
Unfortunately, my husband has had to put on his "plumbing" hat more times than he would have liked! From broken pipes in the shower that are leaking into the basement to broken water heaters, his plumbing stories are endless! We seem to always have something breaking in our house!
One of his favorite stories to tell is about a rental property we had where the upstairs bathtub/shower water was leaking directly into the bathtub downstairs (which was directly below it)! It was like it created its own shower for the downstairs bathroom! Ick!! :) Can you imagine taking a shower from the water leaking from the ceiling??! Ok, I think I grossed you out of enough!
Well, my miracle man (hubby) tore it all apart and fixed the plumbing so that each could use their own shower and stop sharing! :)
What kind of plumbing stories do you have?
Who is the handy one in your house or do you have to hire out?
