Barbecuin' and Eatin' Ice Cream Equals a Great Summer Day!

There is nothing that says "Summer is HERE!" in our house like a weekend barbecue and of course nice, cold ice cream to cool off on a hot, sticky day!

One of my favorite brands of all time for ice cream is Nestle and their Edy's Slow Churned ice cream and Haagen Daz brands! MMmmmm....my mouth waters just typing the names out! :)

My family recently took a trip to Walmart to buy our favorite ice cream to go along with our Saturday Barbecue! It was the perfect sunny day and there is nothing like the smell of a grill and the thought of ice cream for dessert!

Now you must keep in mind that my husband and I are HUGE ice cream eaters and my husband (especially) loves to have it almost every night as we watch TV after my son goes to bed! It is the perfect treat to end a long day! So I definitely did not need to pull his leg or drag him along to get ice cream for dessert! :)

Here are some of the highlights of our trip to Walmart and our barbecue/ice cream dinner:

We are going to need a cart for this trip! :) We always end up with WAY more than we came for!

See..I told you my family loves Saturday trips to Walmart, barbecues and ice cream!!!! :)

Ahhh...the heavenly ice cream aisle!

First Stop: Haagen Dazs! I absolutely love the Cookies & Cream flavor. I think I will definitely grab one of those!

Next stop: My major weakness - Edy's Slow Churned Cookie Dough! It is such a good deal for $3.48 for that big container and it is so great because it has1/2 the fat, 1/3 fewer calories, but ALL the taste of regular ice cream! I can't resist it and I grabbed that one too!

This is one of my husband's favorite - Edy's Butterfinger! So yummy! Better grab that one for the hubby!

Here are some other tasty treats from Nestle that we love: Push Ups and Fruit Bars. I think we have plenty of ice cream to last us a LONG time though so we passed on these today!

Off to the next stop: the Nestle Nesquik chocolate syrup that my husband insists he must have to top his ice cream! I guess we will grab one of those too! (Gotta keep the hubby happy!) Not a bad price ($1.98) for a good size container - it should last us awhile! :)

Off to check out, but they always get me with the candy bars at the checkout stand! The Butterfinger is calling out my name and I decide to get it to eat later! :)

Back home we start the Barbecue portion of our dinner! There is the hubby hard at work! :)

Mmmmm...Tasty brats, chicken sausages and potatoes from the grill! Nothing beats a barbecue during the summer! I don't have to cook and my hubby does - it is awesome! :)

Now on to the best part- DESSERT!!! Here are our selections we bought from Walmart earlier. 

Lots of tasty choices! Now the problem is which one to choose...

After much deliberation, I decided on the Haagen Dazs Cookies & Cream! Who needs a bowl when you got the perfect size container for eating out of, right??? 

This ice cream is so rich and creamy - maybe I need a bowl or I won't stop! :)
