The best gift I ever gave....what a thought huh?

As I pondered this question, years of gift giving flashed through my head. How do you ever rate your gifts "the best one"? Isn't it more how the recipient receives it? I finally decided that to me the best gift would be defined by the gift I think made someone the happiest.

That gift would be my son and the recipient would be me and my husband. I didn't exactly "give" this gift to my husband since he was actually a pretty big part and God is the true giver. But I do feel like I had a huge part in this very special gift! The nine months I carried him and the daily care I give him is my continued gift to my husband and one I think he greatly appreciates!

I will never forget when I told my husband I was pregnant (on Valentine's Day!) and how happy he was! I will never forget the look of astonishment when he first felt my son kicking. And during the hardest days, I think of the first time my husband held our son. I am very proud and blessed to have been able to carry and give birth to our son and I am so happy that I did!

These days, I absolutely love giving the "little" gifts to my husband that come from our son: seeing my husband's face every time he comes home to my son and hears him say "Da, Da!", when our son shows off something he learned during the day that I taught him, or the days when my husband knows the little rascal has wiped me out but yet I still have dinner ready and a smile on my face! Seeing my husband happy makes me happy!

Lucky for me and my husband...my gift just keeps on giving! :) My son is the a true gift to both of us that we truly thank God for this holiday season!
