The craft of moneygami, or origami using real money instead of paper, was handed down from mother to daughter. It was a gift that was given to family and friends for birthdays where the design’s monetary value equaled the age of the recipient. Sue was inspired to add decorations to give each design even a more unique and personal quality.
Sue is a survivor of two strokes that left her virtually unemployable because her speech was dramatically damaged as a direct result of those strokes. At one time only her sister, Caren, could understand what Sue was trying to communicate. Since then, Sue continually works on and improves her speech; however, it is still a constant struggle to be able to communicate with others easily. After searching tirelessly for employment and being denied disability benefits by the government. Sue decided she would need to devise a way to earn a living without needing to verbally communicate. Starting an internet business was the only alternative left.
Caren seized upon the idea of Sue starting the company after a friend asked, “Why aren’t you marketing these designs so other people can make them?” and viola’ Foldin’ Money was born! Sue became the “Money Artist” and creates all the designs for the kits. Foldin’ Money gave Sue not only a vocation it also restored her self esteem.
Their designs have no expiration dates, no activation fees. They are always the right color, size, style. Always needed, appreciated, 100% recyclable, and lightweight so there are no additional shipping costs involved. Remember, nobody ever has enough Foldin’ Money!
My Opinion
I have always wanted to learn how to fold money in cool designs! I was so excited to receive the Money Tree design kit. This kit requires five bills and looks like the picture above when finished! It was really fun to learn how to fold the bills into a tree and it will be really fun to give as a Christmas present this year. I will be really proud that I did it all on my own! :)
I recommend Foldin' Money kits for people looking for a creative gift idea this year. It is fun to learn how to do it and it is gift that you can keep on givin'! Plus, you will really impress the recipients! Everyone will want to know how you did it!
Buy It: You can purchase the Foldin' Money kits for $4.95 for a single kit on the Foldin' Money website.
