Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Bottle Review

I am always on the lookout for new bottles for my son...because I hate washing bottles everyday and he is pretty picky when it comes to the nipples. So I was pretty excited when Tommee Tippee sent me their Closer to Nature bottle to try out!

Inspired by nature, and developed in conjunction with midwives and breastfeeding moms and babies, Closer to Nature bottles are intuitively designed for easier, more natural feeding. The bottle features a uniquely soft, superwide nipple that naturally flexes and stretches like the breast, and the natural shape lets baby latch on effortlessly, easing transitions between breast and bottle and allowing mom to successfully combine breast and bottle feeding. The bottle shape is simply intuitive, allowing for a more comfortable hold and breastfeeding-like closeness, while the ultra-sensitive anti-colic valve lets babies feed at their own pace with less air, vacuum buildup and nipple collapse, which can help reduce gas and colic while feeding. Nipples are progressively staged in slow, medium, fast and vari-flow rates to meet growing babies’ needs.

My Opinion
When I first opened the Closer to Nature bottles I was so surprised to find that this small compact, easy to hold bottle could hold up to 9 oz of fluid! Finally, a bottle that is easy to hold AND big enough to hold all my baby needs to eat at one time! Plus, it is BPA free and Phthalate free! It is also has a anti-colic, anti-gas, advanced easi-vent valve which I loved! The nipples of the bottles really did look and act similar to a mother's nipple and I bet this would make it really easy to transition back and forth!

Another feature I loved for ease of travel is the nice secure lid. It snapped on and didn't go anywhere when the bottle was thrown into a bag or jostled around. I hate bottle lids that don't snap on and stay on and I didn't have to worry about that with Tommee Tippee's lids!

I did notice that their was a little vaccuum created while my son was drinking but it was always fine if I just took the bottle out of his mouth for a second. I only wish that I had some medium nipples to try with it because the slow (that were included) was just a tad slow for my son and the fast nipples they sent along just made him choke because it came out too fast for him.

I recommend Closer to Nature bottles for anyone who bottle and breastfeeds and wants to make it an easy transition for their baby. These bottles are also great for travel because they are small and compact but still hold a lot!

Pros: BPA and Phlatate free, small and compact but still hold 9 oz., nipples are similar to breastfeeding, wide neck nipple for easier latch on, anti-colic, anti-gas, advanced easi-vent valve, lids stay on securely

Cons: there were some vaccuum build-up issues but nothing too bad

Buy It: You can purchase Closer to Nature bottles for $7.99 at Babies "R" Us.
